Think I am just thinking.

Words are but thoughts made visible.

Just Thinking – what we eat?

We have all heard the saying, “you are what you eat”, but perhaps it should be “we are what we think?”

Though it is true that people tend to judge us on first appearance, what we think is truly what makes each of us, what we are. But, that brings up another question. How do people think about what they are thinking about? Each person is born, raised, and learns to speak in one of many different languages of the world. Some of us learn speaking English, others French, German, Spanish, or perhaps Dutch. How we learn to speak has to affect how we think. So, as each of us thinks our private thoughts, we are thinking in terms of the language we were raised with. So, if a person learns a second, or perhaps even a third language, how does the person think? At a basic level, we all respond to our emotions, but we then to analyze in thoughts of words. So for that person who can fluently speak in two or more languages, how is that person thinking? So if you learn a second language as an older adult, do you become someone different than you were? How you can think about things has now been expanded and will you ever be the same?
