Think I am just thinking.

Words are but thoughts made visible.

Babes or Dolls……..

First, no not babes. This is about real Dolls. Not not the ones that walk down the Catwalk, but the ones you find posed up on the shelf being eye candy to little girls everywhere.

Dolls catching the eye.

Behind the glass case American Dolls stand posed to catch the eye of every little girl who walks by.

Every Doll needs something to dress up in.

                                        Every Doll needs an outfit!

Here we find Dolls all lined up in a row.

Ok, truth be known, I really do not have much of an interest in Dolls.  But, my young nieces sure did when visiting the American Doll Store.  Where else could you ever find not only a place with a selection of dolls and doll outfits to stagger the mind and overwhelm the senses of every little girl out there?  Plus, need a place to grab a bite?  They have there own eatery complete with highchairs for the newly purchased Doll of their Dreams!  Now, all you need is a really good piece of plastic!

Communication – email

What a wonderful thing email can be. It gives me the ability to share a thought with a group of people in a single click of the computer. And of course it means people do not actually have to talk to people. Why pick up a phone an talk to a person to discuss an issue when you can exchange an email enstead.

But what if the other person has a question about what you had to say? They end up sending an email back with a question. Then they wanted their co-worker to know about the quesion, so they also copy that person on the response.

Now you see that they have included someone else in on the conversation, so you must include another on your team, so they are aware that someone has asked you to respond to a question and you want to give your team member a chance to contact you regarding the topic.

So, now you end up taking a phone call from your team member to discuss just how you should respond to the question that has been rasied. Now when you respond their are now four people involved in the what was supposed to have been a simple email to one other person.

Next of course what you see are responses from each of team members giving their valuable input into this complex question. And of course they have each expanded the the email by coping another team member they work closely with and for whom’s opinion they value!

Question; have you been counting how many emails you are now having to read? Next time, pick up the phone and call the person!

Communication – need batteries?

So today as I become more dependent on my little mobile office access device, it suddenly started to vibrate to warn me it was running low on power and was shutting down. Ok, now what do I do?

I have a desk drawer full of batteries. I have little square 9 volts, small little round AAA, AA and A size batteries, plus a hand full of C and D cell sized batteries. But oh no, that won’t do you any good, as this new little wonder takes a battery thats about 4 pages of paper thick and half the size of an old baseball card.

Now I need to go buy extra cables so I can get my cute little mobile phone/email/word processor/spreadsheet
/calulator/calender/portable office device plugged into a power source.

If I have to keep it plugged in about half the time, just how is this making me more mobile?
